Head of Retirement Distribution

Retirement segment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Head of Retirement Distribution, you will be responsible for the distribution of our investment products (including mutual funds and collective investment funds) and investment advisory services (including sub-advisory services) to qualified opportunities such as DC/DB plans, pension plans, cash balance plans and sub-advisory mandates across all plan size markets in partnership with all channels of financial intermediaries including banks, wire house broker-dealers, regional broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, and consultants.

  • Develop, design, and lead strategy for the DCIO business and
    champion to internal and external partners.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with key decision
    makers across key retirement intermediaries.
  • Work with platform gatekeepers and investment due diligence
    teams to obtain approval with recordkeepers and advisors, as
    well as sub-advised mandates and recommended fund lists.
  • Partner with firms in the retirement space to understand their
    needs and identify ways in which we can meet those needs
    including the creation of new products.
  • Work to maintain shelf space for the current lineup of products.
  • Maintain relationships with assigned distribution partners.
  • Participate in partner conferences and education seminars.
  • Make decisions on sponsorships, marketing campaigns, etc.
  • Keep abreast of the retirement landscape including investment
    trends, competitor offerings, and regulations that may affect
    future business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the retirement distribution
    industry, that includes explicit client acquisition and asset
    raising experience.
  • Demonstrated a successful track record of raising assets in the
    retirement space.
  • Possess understanding of investment fundamentals (capital
    markets, principles of portfolio management, and asset
    management performance analysis) and investment product
    fundamentals (mutual funds, collective investment trusts,
    variable annuities, and retirement investment products).
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and organized.
  • Demonstrated teamwork ability.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to identify opportunities
    and suggest creative solutions towards building joint business
    agendas.
  • Show consultative sales styles, focusing on building
    relationships rather than solely selling products, while also
    capitalizing on product opportunities when appropriate.
  • Business Development/distribution experience in the retirement
    investment products space preferred
  • Appropriate FINRA licenses required (Series 7; Series 66).
