ETF Portfolio Manager & Operations Lead

Be responsible for implementing and managing various ETF portfolios, as well as overseeing operational and trading workflows. The role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in portfolio management and fund operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:
Fund Operations & Client Relations
 Onboard new ETF products.
 Engage with service providers and partners that support our ETFs.
 Develop and refine operational processes.
 Manage portfolio and risk reporting for registered funds.
 Serve as a central point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration with custodians, brokers, and listing exchanges.
Portfolio Management & Rebalancing
 Manage ETF portfolios, ensuring alignment with index methodologies and active managers.

 Oversee fund rebalancing, optimizing for liquidity, market impact, and tax implications.
 Collaborate with index providers to assess methodology changes and their impact on ETF strategies.
 Assist in the day-to-day management and rebalancing of ETF products.
ETF Basketing & Execution
 Lead the ETF creation/redemption process in coordination with Capital Markets teams, Authorized Participants, and Market Makers.
 Execute and oversee creation/redemption orders for in-kind and in-cash ETFs, including OTC trading where applicable.
 Optimize ETF basket composition to enhance cost efficiencies, tax considerations, and liquidity.
 Prepare and execute trades, rebalances, ETF baskets, and other portfolio adjustments.
Trading & Market Structure
 Execute trading strategies across equities, futures, swaps, and other derivatives to support ETF objectives.
 Maintain a deep understanding of capital markets, market microstructure, and trading mechanics affecting ETFs.
 Engage with custodial banks and counterparties to ensure operational efficiency in ETF trading.
Research & Market Insights
 Backtest and evaluate investment strategies for new ETFs.
 Conduct research on potential investment strategies and implementation.
 Develop research materials and market reports to support investment decisions and client content.
 Provide market insights to optimize ETF structure, liquidity, and tracking efficiency. Portfolio Oversight and Compliance
 Perform daily portfolio reconciliation and prepare quarterly reports.
 Monitor ETF market quality, including volume, primary market flows, and spreads.
 Prepare compliance reports and assist in board meetings and regulatory filings.
 Improve firm policies and procedures related to compliance and portfolio management.
 Ensure adherence to SEC and other relevant regulatory frameworks governing ETFs.
 Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to navigate evolving industry standards. Technology & Data Analytics
 Utilize and enhance portfolio management systems (OMS/EMS), Bloomberg, FactSet, and other data tools for portfolio analytics.

 Leverage Python, SQL, or other programming languages to improve portfolio management processes and automation. Stakeholder Engagement & Operations
 Serve as a key member of the portfolio management team.
 Work closely with Authorized Participants, Lead Market Makers, and Market Makers, while coordinating with internal teams to support client and sales team requests.
 Assist in launching new ETF products, ensuring execution efficiency and effective stakeholder management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 5-10 years of experience in ETF portfolio management and operations.
 Expertise in equity asset classes, index methodologies, and rebalancing dynamics.
 Strong understanding of trading derivatives (futures, swaps, options) within ETF structures.
 Hands-on experience with ETF basketing, creation/redemption mechanics, CIBs, and tax implications.
 Familiarity with market microstructure, execution strategies, and liquidity dynamics.
 Proficiency in portfolio management tools (OMS, EMS), Bloomberg, FactSet, and data analytics (Python, SQL preferred).
 Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks governing ETFs and index funds.
 Strong knowledge of legal, regulatory, and accounting principles applicable to ETFs.
 Coding proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with Bloomberg, Excel (VBA or other programming languages is a plus).
 Experience in derivatives portfolio management, including futures and options, with knowledge of multi-asset ETF rebalancing.
 Ability to operate in entrepreneurial and less structured environments.
 Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with market participants and internal teams.
