Senior Technical Lead

Join a rapidly growing asset management firm seeking a Senior Technical Lead to
spearhead technology initiatives and guide cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with software architecture and database design in a full-stack environment.

LOCATION: Remote (Quarterly travel to Washington, D.C.)

JOB TYPE: Remote

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Technical Leadership: Grow our software engineering practice, overseeing the development and optimization of technology tools across the firm.
● Data Engineering: Develop and maintain robust, scalable data infrastructure to support our 100+ funds.
● Portfolio Management Support: Gather requirements from diverse stakeholders and translate them into effective technical solutions.
● Organizational Leadership: Assist in recruiting and building a high-performing engineering team.
● Role Focus: In your first year, 75% of your efforts will be dedicated to hands-on coding, with the remaining 25% focused on stakeholder and team management. As we expand our team, the split will trend towards 25% and 75% management in the long run.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
● Experience:
○ 10+ years of experience in software engineering across the entire tech stack,
with a focus on backend development and database design
○ 2+ years of experience leading and directing engineering teams
○ Experience in the finance industry is a plus
● Technical Expertise:
○ Python Development: Server-side development using frameworks such as
Flask or Django
○ Data Design: Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and SQL
databases
○ Web Services & APIs
○ Front-End Basics: Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React.js or
Vue.js
○ DevOps & Tooling: CI/CD pipelines, version control, and application deployment
○ Cloud Platforms: AWS or GCP experience strongly preferred

● Soft Skills: High agency and proactive approach to problem-solving; excellent
communication and stakeholder management; user research experience is beneficial.
